Super feet trailblazers

I'll try to post more later but I just fell in love with some insoles.  I hike with trail runners (Altra Line Peak) because they're light, comfortable (to me) , have a wide toe box and they dry fast.  I don't like that I feel *every-single-rock*,  but it's a trade-off I'm willing to make.  So, I bought a pair of the blue Super feet insoles and they were pretty good.  Not awesome, but an improvement.  I just bought another set (new shoes) and this time got the Trail Blazer version, I think that's the name.  HUGE difference.  Only got about 2 miles but it's Rocky, rooty miles and they were awesome.

I am intrigued! I have always hiked in old-school-style boots (Lowa Renegade) and shoes (Oboz Sawtooth). I always sigh a bit at first at how heavy they are, but I am also delighted at how, at the end of the hike, my feet are not even a little bit beat up from the rocks.

I've thought about trying trail runners, but had doubts and held off -- those insoles are now tempting me again.  🙂

I've only got one short hike in them so far but I love them.  I had the same concern about trail runners but they're always light and they dry fast.  My boots were always heavy and dried super slow.  I was fine with the tradeoff to sacrifice some comfort for weight.  The insoles really changed things 🙂

I've now got three hikes in with the SuperFeet TrailBlazers and am definitely a fan.  I get the light weight flexibility of the trail runners but my feet don't take a pounding from rocks and roots.  I've got a 15 +/- section of the AT coming up and that'll be my first real test of them but, so far, I'm definitely a fan!

Nice! I have a pair of Altra Lone Peak 6 shoes ordered, and now it looks like they will arrive tomorrow (a few days earlier than originally estimated.) If they do arrive then, I plan to take them out for a spin on Sunday -- no insoles, just my usual sock configuration.

Sorry for the double post, my router had a seizure.  🙂  I guess there is no way to delete a post?
