How to stay comfortable in HOT weather?

I live in the southeast and, at the moment, we're having a mild summer with only around 60% humidity and temps in the 80F to 90F range.  I went on a quick after-work hike up Pine Mountain yesterday and found myself doing a bit of daydreaming about my next backpacking adventure and it hit me that there's a good chance it's going to be HOT.  I am a hammock camper and I've got a really lightweight 50F sleeping bag (it's a cheap one from Amazon, so it's more like a zippered sheet than a "bag" :), but that's not the point) so the lack of anything under me is an edge while sleeping but if the temp is much above 75F at night it can be unpleasant.  I know that we've talked a good bit about cold weather gear but what about warm or hot weather gear?  Any hot-weather hacks y'all can share to make the hot weather hiking / backpacking / camping adventures less hot and / or sticky?

This isnt really going to help with sleeping but for hiking I use a cooling towel.  I thought it was a gimic at first but it does seem to work pretty good.  You are going to use some water on it but if it's hot and humid it's definitely worth it.  Just be sure to soak it when you're getting water.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, works been crazy and the site just kindof died off for a bit.  Ill try to check back more and post when I have something to contribute.

I never really thought about it but it would be nice to have a way to cool off or stay cool on hot days and nights.  I have tried a tent and a hammock now and having a little breeze in the hammock does make it a lot cooler to sleep in.
